Hold on a minute. You may not be in luck after all. I know when I regeared my '97 Sahara from 3.73 to 4.56, I had to buy a new carrier for my Dana44 (but not my Dana30 up front). So where exactly is the break point? It appears to be between 3.73 and 3.92. Supporting evidence:

^^^^^ True....I read it as D35....see what happens when you read quickly.

D44:
Carrier break: 2.72:1 - 3.73:1 and 3.92 - 5.89:1

D35:
3.07, 3.31, Carrier break 3.55, 3.73, 4.10, 4.56, 4.88

Alright new question regarding a D44.

If i were to buy an open carrier that would be the right size for a 4.10 ring and pinion, could i just not buy spider gears and buy a lunchbox locker?
