d44 outer shaft on d30??

i recently blew my passenger side wheel bearing and as a result of that, my tire went crazy and damaged the outer shaft aswell. A buddy of mine has a rubicon and a few weeks ago he broke an outer shaft. Hes replaced all his shafts with alloys and now has spares. I understand that teh d44 has similar parts to teh d30. Excluding the inner shaft and teh diff. He is willing to give me his old shafts. My question is will teh outer shaft of the d44 fit my d30?

As I recall only the inner is a 30 spline(ruby), and the outer is the 27 spline version.. However something in the back of mind is saying some issue with the yoke's fitting your dana 30 joint, but not sure on that..Go for it and find out..

The outers are the same.
