Dana 35 -Non ABS shaft on ABS Vehicle

Can you run a Non ABS Shaft on an ABS Vehicle after pulling off the ABS Shafts? The guy I got them from said it would just cause the ABS Light to come on. Can any other problems come of this or is it OK at least for a month or 3??

Thanks!

No problems at all. The ABS light will come on, but it's just the same as removing the sensor.

Thought so...just making sure before I finish digging the seal and bearing out and replace them and the new (at least to me) axles. Thanks!

Yeah it will work fine. You said in your other thread that you didn't know if you had abs. Simple way to tell, look under the hood for the abs pump. It will be an the drivers side against the firewall, kindof under the master cylinder. It's a valve with a motor attached to it with 4 brake lines connected to it. If you just have an empty space in that area then you don't have abs. Wheather or not it works is another story but if you don't have the fuse I would bet you don't have abs because not having the fuse would trigger the abs light as well.

Done and no it does not have ABS. Guess someone swapped the original axle for an ABS axle at some point, and it was bad...not just slightly dented...but a nice even groove all the way around it. Replaced the Bearing and seal at the same time, so shouldn't have any problems going forward with it...didn't do the other side so may end up doing this again down the road.
