Dana 35 pinion nut

Does anyone know the correct size socket to use to remove the pinion nut on a Dana 35 front axle?
I believe it's a 1 1/8 but not sure. I need to pick one up at work tomorrow and wanted to know for sure.

Thanks,
Tim

Not to nit-pick, but are you referring to the Dana 35 REAR axle...

...or the Dana 30 FRONT axle?

(don't think I've seen a D35 front...)

Ha I didn't catch that I just read D35 and answered.

Well....

The D30 is also 1 1/8th as is the D35.

DUH!! I was working on the front D30 but thinking about the rear D35. Going to replace it too!
Thanks rketr, I'll blame it on age!

to add to it, sounds like you are replacing the seal maybe. anyway, that nut is technically one time use only, if you take it off, it is recomended to replace it. the way i do it everytime is to use blue thread locker, and reuse the original nut. i have seen a couple times where someone reused the nut, and didn't use any threadlocker, and the nut did loosen up. i've never had a problem with locktite, or new nut.
