Dana 35 Spider Gears

Hey! I'm new to the Forum. Is it common to replace the spider gears in the 35 differential after 100,000 miles?

No, not unless they are presenting a problem.

Remember that having a different opinion doesn't also require one to be a jerk when expressing it.

When you have a choice, buy American.

Spider gears

I drained the fluid and it was full of metal. Found a rear end and had them check it. Same thing when they drained the fluid. I picked up all my parts from Morris 4X4 to rebuild it. It's in the process now. I've heard if you tow to much weight or run oversize tires this can happen. I need the advice of you guys.
Thanks again!!

i replaced mine at 70k, they werent destroyed but were starting to show some wear on the teeth(chips/shavings). previous owner had 35 inch tires which probably didnt help the stress on it.
