dana 44a

There is a guy i know selling a dana 44a out of mj. I know that they are not as strong but if i keep my 33s can i lock it?

i know its not much but its cheap but im trying to find out if i keep my 33s tires would i be able to lock

Pass on it. Look into a super 35 kit or start saving pennies up for a 44 or 8.8 swap. The 44a is no upgrade.

Not to mention its not a direct bolt up so your looking into some fabbing to get it in there.if your gonna do all that then go for a much stronger upgrade than a 44a

You could probably get away with running one locked. I think Aussie may be one of your only choices for a locker though... don't quote me on that. The D44a is weaker and if you do much with rocks, you can punch holes in the diff easier than an iron center section. From what I have read on the 44a, they like to chew bearings too. So, yes, you could lock the 44a, but your money might be best spent on a different axle.
