Dash Removal for Painting Purposes?

I've been considering painting my dash black/dark gray (whatever I can find to closely match the current dark trim panels in there) with Krylon Fusion paint...however, I also don't want to be trying to tape everything off in order to paint the dash inside the Jeep. Me and painting = near disaster as it is...painting the dash while it's still in the Jeep, that's just begging for trouble.

So is there any how to's on removing all the panels from the dash? I know the cowl (or whatever it's called with the defroster vents in it) panel just pops off...and I know how to remove the radio trim ring. It looks like the side panels and some are just held on by screws (torx screws I believe if I recall correctly). The main concern right now is...the lowest part of the dash that appears to be bolted in with torx-head bolts and looks like it runs across the length of the dash and is underneath everything else.

Is removing some of those panels going to be a complicated process requiring removing a lot of other things?

If that's the case, I'll just live with the tan/spice/whatever color it is...

If you are really shure that you want to paint it why not just remove the bigger, easy to remove peices, and mask the rest off. Masking it off wouldnt be that hard, and wouldnt take too long.
The hardest part would be getting the tape to stick. If you are to do so wipe everything down very good with a paint prep solvent, that will get all the armor all, or whatever other chemicals are on your dash off. Then you should have no problem masking it up

Hrmmm...well crap. I knew the airbag wouldn't come out...so I figured everything else would come off. So in that case, anybody have photos of their progress painting their dash...or at the very least, what panels will end up unable to be removed without a lot of unnecessary work?
