Dash Removal Help

Wonder if anyone can help with a problem I have removing the dash to get to the evaporator core. I've removed all the connectors and taken out all the bolts. Just leaving this connector left from behind the glovebox:

I can't seem to get it to move and I don't want to start using pliers or more force just yet - is there an easy way? (i've pulled the red peg all the way out and pressed the black clip)

Also, I don't think this is essential as I may be able to leave the AC heat controls attached, but how do you break the heat cable cord also?

those connectors are a major BITCH to remove. There is one exactly like that I had to disconnect elsewhere on the jeep. I mustve spent 15 minutes trying to figure it out. I removed the red peg and then used a small screwdriver from the top (from the orientation of the plug in your photo) to help unclip it and seperate the two halves. unfortunately I cant remember exactly how I did it but a screwdriver was involved. I was so relieved when it was done. lol

PITA Connector

Thanks Ben - Glad I'm not alone. So I'll also take a screwsriver to it today !

As an aside, I'm amazed there are many different types of connectors. The designers must have had many friends at 'Obscure Connector, inc' - I mean why can't they just use one X-way design for all and colour code them all!!!
