death wobble!!!

i cant seem to get rid of the death wobble, my tires are balanced, and they are alighned for sure. what else can contribute to the death wobble. Im using the drop track bar bracket that came with my rough country 4 inch lift kit. and then 2.5 inch of spacers on top of that. Is that to much lift for that size track bar or position of bracket? help me please. i cant drive like this anymore. thanks alot

well it may be (just maybe) due to having six inches of lift on that stock track bar. you definitely want a longer adjustable trackbar...and your on short arms too!

wow thaks to bigjeep i just noticed you have the 2.25(<in ur sig but u say 2.5?) coil spacer lift and then the 4" rough country lift plus the 3" body lift.. wow thats a lot on stock arms. I didnt see that you have a sye or anything of that kind either so i'm guessing tranny drop? how much tranny drop you got on that?

don't know but im sure the driveshaft is ready to pull out of the tcase

Okay I have 4.5 Re lift and 2" spacers on 35', and untill I rammed the jeep into a stump it drove fine.Mine just needs the tire's balanced and some new tie rodsetc. Thus couple things come to mind. Check all your bolts. I would look at getting a fully adj track bar and getting rid of the drop bracket. Also how are your tie rod ends? do you have adj control arms, up and lower? The front drive shaft should not be an issue as its long enough for that lift. You really want to look at any area that is a moving part on the suspenion and steering and make sure it tightened to spec's.

I am asking a death wobble question, i dont need ur critisism on irrelevent material at this point. I just ran to the store and put on new tie rod ends and i alighned the tires earlier. Yes, i am running the original track bar, but ive had it on for a while when the death wobble didnt occur. It just started to get it about a week ago.

Hm, did you do anything prior to the DW showing up? Rotate the tires, put a new u-jointin, new shocks, while check the bolts I think the track bar at the axle needs to be 78 lbs but i am not 100% on that one. Mine just sits in the garage until a trail run so its not a must need sitution for me, but it its also no fun driving down the road thinking your going to die...

no critisisms... i'm just supprised its holding together strongly.. every 1 seems to make everything seem so easy to brake such as the dana 35 (if that's what u have) and the 35s... people are burning up about 4" lift on the stock arms with a tranny drop and u got like 6+.. for bodylift every one is saying anything over 1.5 or so is totally pushing it and u got 3.. dont get me wrong here i'm thinking of it as that's one strong brick u got there to be honest i am actually a bit jelous since mine is still stock.. (besides the death wobble but once you figure it out..)

6" lift with stock CAs...? i wouldn´t drive this jeep on the road. handling must be horrible with that setup.
the stock CAs hzave a very bad angle now. that could cause your problems. for 3-4" lifts longer or adjustable CAs are recommended. for everything over 4" they are a MUST.

do you have shocks for 6" lift? or only for the 4" lift? that could also cause handling problems.

stock track bars with 6" of lift...?

sorry, but there are so many things on your suspension that aren´t recommended for 6" lifts that everything could cause your problem.

im running the control arms that the rough country lift gave me. Yes, the arms are a little more angled down, but still flexes just as it did before the spacers. The ride is exactly the same. I dont know everyone is saying thats crazy, i drive it far to work every day and it runs good. Body lift has not been a problem for me with 3 inches. Ur right, i am running dana 35 and hasnt been a problem so far and i wheel hard every weekend, lets just see how that holds up though. and with all that lift, i have absolutely NO VIBRATIONS what so ever, not even a little. I have the regular tranny drop bar from rough country and a brown dog 1 inch motor mount lift. I just finished getting rid of the death wobble, a second steering stabilizer did the trick. thanks for the help

Does that mean you are running two steering stabilizers at once?

Man, with that much lift and a drop trac bar bracket you need to be running a drop pitman arm too. Plus if you are still using the stock trac bar then I'm sure you moved it over and drilled a new hole in the bracket right? If so I bet money that hole has wallowed out and is not round anymore so it never keeps that bolt stationary in one place. If said statements are true then you are either going to neeed an adjustable trac bar or to at least drill that hole a bit bigger and use a bigger bolt to keep it all snug.

the rough country lift does come with dropped pitman arm so i think he has it...

So you drive it hard with the dana 35 and never broke an axle? That make me wana get 35s even more (devil face)

no offense upinar...but u confuse me. you tell us that you wheel hard every weekend but in some of your other threads you said that you've pretty much quit wheeling.
