defroster problem

when i turn my defroster on air /heat is trying to come out of the vent, but it sound like a door slams closed in the defrost vent and prevents the heat/air from coming out. also my fan speed does not work in the 3/4 position. of 1/4 , 1/2, and full work fine.

HELP

The same thing happened to me. I forget what they called it but the door in mine was broken and they said that to order and replace it would be 330$... So I opted to stick a wire coat hanger and jam the "door" open. All your other settings will work like the air at your face and feet but a little will always come out of your main defroster. Hope this helped you a little!

mine is doing the same thing, there is a piece that seems to break off inside of there ... the place I bought mine from "Fixed" it but it didn't stay fixed for long, they filed bankrupsy and I'm out ... I'm planning on sticking something down there like 1997jeeptj did and just have some come out all the time...

what is wrong is the defroster arm broke. they are know to break alot i had the same problem. make sure you order the right part. its either the Havc arm or the upper defrost arm. one is longer then the other. Defroster lever - Shop sales, stores & prices at TheFind.com

What a good ideal since I bought the jeep to tow behind my motorhome to warm places.

Thanks
