Diagnosing a squeek

I need help diagnosing a squeek. Not a big deal...more of an annoyance than anything else. When I put my 98 TJ in gear and start going, if I "rock" (like lurching the jeep forward) the jeep for any reason, I hear a squeek coming from the rear of the jeep, almost like a squeeky swingset.

I know it's nothing, but more of an annoyance than anything. Anybody got any suggestions?

New to me 98 Tj with 84K miles on it. Rides like a champ...

Thanks again,
Kevin

Just kidding, it could be a number of things, is your rig stock? it could be springs, shocks, rear trac-bar...does it do it when you go over say a speedbump?

I love it...that's classic.

As for the squeek, I haven't thought about when/where it does it. I have a couple speedbumps going out of my parking lot from work. I'll listen there and report back. As for the Jeep being stock, I think it is with the exception of the tires/rims. I bought it in Oct, and really haven't done anything except drive it. If the snow will stop, I'm gonna change the fluids, but I'm too cold to do that...I'm a MS transplant living in KS now and it's frickin cold...

Get a buddy to stand and bounce on the rear bumper whilst you lay underneath

My money is on a squeeky bushing. Trackbar, Control arm, shock, even sway bar links. Just one more reason to hate bushings!!! If it's just a squeek and not a clunk, just turn up the radio and live with it.
