Dies while at idle.

2000 TJ dies while idling. Be at at start up or just sitting in a fast food drive through. No issues while drinking. I6, 5 speed. 118k miles. Battery, plugs, air filter, oil recently replaced. Where should I start? Thanks.

Don't manually adjust the idle leave the screw at the factory setting...the idle is computer controlled with the IAC valve. I'd remove the throttle body then clean it inside and out with CRC TB cleaner along with the IAC. Is it idling normal and suddenly dies or are the rpms all over the place?

Did it have the driveability problem before the work mentioned above was done?

The engine uses an electronic fuel injection system that regulates idle speed with a solenoid valve called an idle air bypass valve, located in the throttle body. Occasionally, the valve bore will get corrupted with carbon that reduces the apeture of the bypass bore/pintle, thus you dont get enough air bypass to regulate idle, thus an idle-hunt/stall will occur. This is one scenario; you'd need to do your pre-checks and make sure that the JeepTruck Electronic Control System runs all it's OBD monitors without populating any trouble codes before buying parts, guessing, etc.

It's idles fine and all of a sudden it shuts off. No hesitation, no movement in the rpm. Just off, like I turned off the ignition.

No issues at all. Just routine maintenance. Well, I did replace the rear wiper motor, but I don't that's relevant.
