dieseling noise on OD

Hello, i just bought a 2005 wrangler with 20k on it, it looks brand new. When i drive the truck though and and the OD comes on around 50 mph and i press a little gas i hear a weired noise like dieseling, when i release the gas it stops. Is this has to do with the gas or is the distributor?
Thanks

this is called "pinging" It is caused by using fuel with too low an octane rating. It can do bad things to the engine if it keeps happening.

to see if its pinging fill her up with some premium and see if it still occurs. (no need to be full.. when the light turns on, fill it up with maybe 7-8 gallons)

try using 89. if im not mistaken, 93 burns a little hotter and can actually do damage if your car isnt rated for it. could be hearsay tho.

What size tires are on it? The engine could be lugging in OD which will cause pinging.

what does this dieseling/pinging noise sound like? i have a noise when the OD kicks on at highway speeds to, but i don't know if it's normal. i just know i don't have it when i have OD off. so anytime i know i'm gonna go highway speeds, i just turn off OD.

93 burns slower as far as i know and can resist knocking. Never heard of it burning hotter though.
