Different width tires? (front vs back)

Hey all, i'm just would like to see any opinions on running different width tires in the front compared to rear.

less width is lighter.. i can see it being bad idea though since it will screw up tire rotation

i know you have to run the same size height front and rear but i dont see why you couldnt run a different width...maybe im wrong though

lol look at those extremely tall and skinny boggers on the front....what are those like 35x9.5's?

Tripp if you change your gearing you can run shorter tires up front that are also narrower, then you can mount one of those big aluminum ricer wings on the back. That would be cool.

4point i can leave my 30x9.5s in front and run 35x15s in the rear.. how would that be for ya? At least i wont need to regear the D30

lol i have my rear sway bar discoed and my front i connected it last night.. i can now lift up my front tires with ease on turns and i can lift up my drivers side when dropping the clutch.

btw i edited my post up there since it first sounded a bit mean..

I used to run wide tires in the back and skinny ones in the front....


on the 71 nova I drove in high school...


but I also had a mullett and wore bell bottom jeans...

my jeep has my 14.5"wide swampers in the back and my 12.5" wide procomps in front right now. Im going to do some 2-wheeling in the morning before I replace my front shafts, ill post some pictures of how if looks tomorrow

thanks for your responses so any negatives about tire rotation? i assume you cant rotate them since ones will be wider than the others?

You can't run directional tires, ie Baja Claws or Xterrains.

35x12.50 up front, 35x14.50 on back both on 15x10" wheels. dont mind the editting, im really bored at work

I can understand if you intend to make your Jeep a 1/4 mile runner...skinny up front, fat in the back..

Keep on bouncing your front end up and down and you're going to break an axle or something. By a tuner if you want a strip car.
