Question differentials

my differential are making a little noise, almost whining sound. So I am thinking that either I am low on fluid or it needs to be changed. What weight of fluid showed I use? If need to remove the cover plates, and when I put it back do I torque the bolts? Anything else? Cant think of any other questions. Thank you.

Here's a good write up on the whole procedure, I used it last weekend while doing mine with no problems.

As far as what type of fluid to use, just ask at the autoparts store when you go to pick it up.
