Do I need longer shocks with a 2" or 2.5 BB

I have a new set of 31s I am putting on my 2001 TJ. I want to do a 2 inch or 2.5 inch spacer lift. Do I need new shocks or are they long enough to extend to the extra height? It is completely stock now. Thanks

You don't "need" them but its a good idea to upgrade them so that you at least maintain stock up and down travel.

My friend has the skyjacker spacer kit with their nitro shocks. It's an ok ride. Nothing like my OME lift though. But check prices on rancho shocks. They are pretty good quality. Not sure on the price tho.

Are you going to be offroading? If not, then you might be able to get away with no new shocks. If you plan to go offroad, you'll want the extra travel.

Don't really plan on doing any off roading. Does sound fun though.

If you have the cash, go ahead and buy shocks. If you don't but can't wait to put the spacer in, then put the spacer in and do shocks when you've got the money. If it was me I'd wait until I could do it all at once with some nice shocks but it's your jeep!

Yea Thanks, Been looking at the "zone" kit...It's about $229 on fleabay. Need to save up a bit and do it all at once. It comes with shocks and spacers.

There are a couple vendors on here (I believe rockridge 4wd, baseline 4x4, and others) that sell ZONE products and can give you a discount and free shipping for being a member on here. I have made a purchase from rockridge and dealt personally with Erin; she worked with me and we came to a great deal!!

Good choice! And remember to adjust your bumpstops.
