I have been searching around and can' seem o find what I'm looking for. I will be taking the doors off the jeep whenever it warms up and was thinking of installing a new dome light so I don't have to keep inserting fuses or clips. I am going to take out my old dome light and take some measurements and go down to a pick-a-part and find a dome light with a on/off switch, why jeep didn't already make it like this is stupid in my opinion. Anyways just wondering if anyone has already tackled this before and knows of good donor dome light hat would look good

Nope haven't done, but would say is easier to buy the $8 clips for the light pins.
Or you could make a flat plate to go over light pins and using existing panel screws already near there.

Hey was it you that I was talking to a while back about some 33" tires I bought from PEPBOYS that were only $99.00. If it was did you ever call them and price them. I'm going to be needing new tires soon myself and would hope that there still in that dollar range. that was almost 2years ago when I purchased those just wondering what current prices are.

I made my own with a blown fuse, 2 fuse taps, an inline fuse holder and a two way switch. I then dremeled out a spot in front of my 4wd shifter for the switch. just reach down and turn it off.

total cost- $12

jason i just pulled the whole door insert out.. that way the light only comes on when i WANT them too.. the clips are a PITA to put on and off when the doors are on or off.. sometimes on bres jeep we would forget about them and she broke one once..

you could always just unplug the black pins then put them back in.. i took mine out permanently

I pulled my fuse and they still work off of the factory switch. The pins in the doors just don't work.

yep works like a champ. I have not had my fuse in well since the day I bought it.

all the fuse does is let the lights come on automatically. sense i had my jeep and aint had my fuse in sense, when u cut the truck off, they wont come on unless u turn the knob. they still work, just u gotta make them cut on. i dont think ill ever put the fuse back in.cheapest and easiest way right there.
