Dome light Question...Not #4 fuse!

Okay, I have a 2005 TJ. I have the doors on for winter in IL, and my dome lights are working just fine. Door switch, ignition shutoff, manual switch...

I bought some LED's from VLEDs. 2 blue lights to replace the domes. I put them in, and only one will work at a time. Be it passenger or driver. Both bulbs work but only one side at a time.

I can put the incandescent bulb back in the side that isnt working and it lights up just fine.

Does anyone have any info for me? I don't think it would be the fuse, but maybe low resistance?

Sounds like you ruled out everything but the lights you bought. Not like there are flashers
Or relays on the dome light. I'd throw them away or return them. Maybe the connection tabs could be bent a little. All I can think of.

They are not blowing the fuse. By the incandescent lights you get power to both sides. I doubt 2 LEDs need more than 12 volts. That light is a fused wire with an on off switch on the door. No fancy electronics to fail or anything. Check the base of the non lit bulb while it's installed with a voltmeter to see If it's getting power is all else I can think of. Seems moot and a waste of time to me though since the incandescent ones work. Unless these LEDs require over 12 volts to run but that would be crazy.

You probably know this but the D in LED stands for diode and a diode is a one way current device like a check valve in plumbing so if in backwards to circuit polarity they will not light so whenever an LED does not illuminate try reversing the leads ( ie flipping it around 180 degrees)
