Door stuck locked.

my driver door (full door) is stuck in the locked position, and will not unlock with the key or the rocker switch inside the door. this is the third time this has happened, the other two times i could just play with the rocker switch and eventually it would unlock and be fine for a while.

does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this, getting in and out the passenger door is pretty annoying.

Had this problem about a month ago...Most likely the issue is that the mechanism inside has frozen, probably from a little corrosion or something.

Use a coat hanger as a slim jim (unless of course you have a slim jim) to pop it open....Its pretty easy because you can roll the window down and get a pretty good look at what your doing.

Fish the hook end of the coat hanger down where the latch would be, wiggle it around until it catches on the locking mechanism, and give it a few good tugs upward. The door should pop open pretty easily. I thought it was going to be pretty hard to do, but it turned out to be a piece of cake.

Once you get the door open, squirt some oil inside (I didn't take off the inner panel, but it would be way easier if that panel is removed) and pull the handle a few times to loosen things up. I did this, and haven't had a problem in a month or two.

I have this problem sometimes too but on my passenger door. The way I get it to unstick is pull on the door handle from the inside a few times and then hit the button and it works. I did take the panel off the drivers side and fix that one but that was quite a while ago so I can't remember how I did it but think it was something simple.

i took the door off when the door was shut (kind of difficult) got it back to open with some PB Blaster and wiggling. but it happend right after i put everything back together and drove to my destination and had to crawl in the passenger door again.

My passenger door did that wor a while till I fixed it. The rod inside the door that goes from the outside handle to the inside handle had a little too much play in it so I bent it a little bit to take the slack out of it. I have not had a problem out of it for over a year now. If you just take the door panel off and wiggle the handle you will see the rod.

Same here, door wouldn't open, frozen shut even though i ran the jeep for over an hour with the heat blasting away. The lock mechanism was the issue. Use moovit (kinda like wd-40 but better) on all locks and give a few minutes and it should open up no problem.

Odd, im having the same problem as well. I thought it was the temps freezing it but the passenger door isn't having any issues. My key won't work, but after manipulating the lock switch inside a few times it made it work for the next 2 or three locks. Then right back to being stuck. Only thing I noticed this last time is some resistance when rolling the window down. Looks like I'm going to have to take the door apart.
