I just put on a bb. Its seems like I have a very small vibe as I'm letting the clutch out in first gear for just a second & then it stops. Is this the vibe I read about or is it something different or at another speed. Thanks for any help.
Hmmm.... in first gear????
Never really in first gear long enough for a vibe to start let alone feel. Check over your U-joints and bolts are secure as well if you had to remove any lately.
That vibe is indeed caused by a steepened rear driveshaft angle caused by the new suspension lift. You can cure the vibe by dropping the transfer case skidplate by a half-inch or so via longer skidplate mounting bolts & washers stacked up around each of the 6 bolts and inserted between the frame and skidplate.
If you are interested, I have the 6 grade 8 bolts with the bunches of grade 8 washers needed to lower the transfer case an inch. I paid $50 for this stuff and then the OME kit I purchased to lift my TJ came with the lowering kit. My King Bolt store won't take the bolts and washers back for unknown crappy reasons. I will give you a good deal.
Its an 06. Thanks for the offer on the transfer case lowering parts. I have bolts & washers in my shop that will fit I think. Do you think it will ruin anything if I leave it this way for a while? After letting the clutch out in first it doesn't do it anymore. I really don't want to lower the skid & loose ground clearance. Maybe a mml later.
You may not feel it anymore after first but most likely it is still doing it. This is not good on any of the joints, etc. Just lower it 1/2 inch and see if it makes a difference. Mine vibrated a bit so I lowered it to be safe.
Guess ill get it done this weekend. Its not my dd so I can leave it parked til then. Thanks for the advice!
