Driveshaft Length ?

Hello.

Iīve a 4.0L TJ with the 4spd auto tranny. Thereīs about 5" of lift and iīll install a TeraFlex belly-up skidplate and some Currie adj. CAs during the holidays.

I know Iīve to install a SYE and CV driveshaft. Iīll order that in the US next week. But shipping to Germany is very expensive and I donīt want to pay that twice. I have to know the lenght of the driveshaft before I order the parts.

Do you know the DS lenghth that I need?

Iīll also order some rear shock relocation brackets.
Do I need some other parts?

Thanks!
nicolas-eric

Try looking at advance adapters sye or tom woods driveshaft, they give a good description and maybe a photo of where to take the measurements from on your existing setup, that will give you the length of what you will need to order

The problem is:

I have to install the belly-up TC plate and the adj. CAs before I can measure how long the DS has to be. Then I have to order the parts in the US and until they arrive I canīt use the Jeep because the stock rear DS will not work. I need my Jeep. Itīs my daily driver.

Thatīs why I ask here. I hope to find somebody with a similar setup who can tell me what DS length I need.

What about front wheel drive? If you're not locked in the front, it should work well.
You need to wait for an actual measurement. Don't use someone else's guess work.

you are prolly going to have to contact the vendor from which you are purchasing the driveshaft through and tell them the setup you have on yer rig, they should be able to make you one the correct length with the information you give them.

Front wheel drive?
Will that work with the stock TC yoke without the rear DS? I thought that I will loose the TC fluid on that way.

The TJ 231 can be driven without the rear shaft on, and no fluid loss. Is there a shop in Germany that could make you a rear shaft and save some time?

even though shipping is $$$, i would wait until you get everything installed. theres too many variables to just wing it. +1 on finding a driveline shop local to you and getting one made there.

Seems like a local place would be the best. The may have to order parts from the US but if modifications were necessary, they could do it.
If you have to order from the US I have had very good luck with Tom Woods. Here are some details about measurements: Tom Woods Custom Drive Shafts Custom Driveshafts Specialist

Then I donīt have a problem. I will have a front wheel drive TJ for the 1-2 weeks until the DS and SYE arrives from the US.
Is there a speed limit or something else that I have to take care about in these 1-2 weeks?

I did that when I had my Toyota. It did great front end burnouts.
