I replaced my old worn out steering box with a remanufactured durango box from Napa along with a new steering pump probably almost 2 years ago now. From the beginning I noticed that it would seem like the box isn't getting enough oil flow. I could feel the power steering take over if I turned the wheel slowly or if I rev up the engine, but at idle it feels like I can turn the wheel faster than what the power steering pump can pump. If that makes sense... And I'm not cranking it over quicker than I use to be able to before the durango box.
Just recently I replaced my worn out steering stabilizer and now the problem is even more apparent. Even just turning on the road is tougher than it was when I had the stock box in there.
I was thinking of trying a new steering pump but I wanted to ask you guys before I throw money at it.
Thanks!
Specs: 4.0L, 35" tires, stock steering, OE pitman arm, RE track bar, RE stabilizer
