They fit just fine. I have a zone offroad cover on my Durango box. Be sure to get the Durango box without the snow plow option. And it's only an upgrade if you have large tires. If I had not got my box for less than $40. at the jy I would have just bought a PSC box.
As everyone else has stated. They are close enough in size that it's not an issue with any of the typical steering box skids. (the word typical is used, as there will inevitably be some off the wall design that wont' fit. I haven't seen any of these, but they probably exist.)
Does anybody know if the durango box will work on an 05? Ive heard since they went to a mercedes box in 05 the skid plates dont work either. Anybody know if this is true?
Using the snow plow option defeats the purpose of using a Durango box which is less turns from lock to lock. The plow option box isn't an upgrade in ratio.
The purpose of the Durango box isn't less turns. It's the size of the piston inside is larger making it more suitable for pushing fluid to turn bigger tires. Turns from lock to lock are just a by product
I disagree . The ratio is what makes this upgrade worth while. The steering wheel stiffness is a product of the input pressure valve and that is something any rebuilder can adjust. This will dictate if you are using a pinky to turn the wheel, or both hands with effort.
Yes that's the reason to get the non snow plow over the snow plow version but not the reason to do the durango swap.
