Easy to convert a 4cyl to the straight6?

Looking at a 97 jeep wrangler in real good shape for $2000 only has 90,000 on it. But would want a 6 in it. just looking for some feed back on how dificult and expensive this would be. I am a decent mechanic and im guessing a 6cyl would be fairly inexpensive

You can pick up a 258 ci 6 cyl. eng for 1494.99 from 4wd.com You might want to change the trany and transfer case too!

If you're going to do a swap anyways, why not drop in a fuel injected V8? It wouldn't be much more expensive than doing the L6 swap. If you're dead set on getting the straight 6, it's recommended that you have an ENTIRE donor Jeep with the L6 in it. At that point, ask yourself if it's cheaper that way..........it's almost ALWAYS cheaper and less of a headache to wait until you find a nice 4.0L powered Jeep instead of trying to convert a 4cyl Jeep.
