Electrical issue

Buddy 3 doors down is trying to start her TJ ans most of the times it clicks but sometimes starts. I put the meter to the battery and got 1.3 volts. I don't know how to use the meter well enough to test the alternator and the starter kicks over on first try but now after. It's a 205 TJ, 4.0. 6 speed, 53K miles.

Chris

1.3 volts is a dead battery.

But thats not bad for a jeep that is 1,804 years old.

1.3 volts? there's your problem

Are you saying the first time she hits the key the engine will turn over fine but won't turn over properly a second or third try?

1.3Volts = Dead Battery....I Concur....
1. Disconnect And Charge
2. Bad Alternator will slowly kill charged battery = Bad Alternator
3. Vehicle will continue too run with battery bad maybe even disconected, pull negative terminal...
4. 1,2,3 next

11.3 volts is still too low. A good battery should be around 14 volts. Before you do anything else, get a new battery.
