electrical problem

okay
well the starter has been dragging so i got new battery terminals because i thought it was my battery, that wasnt it. so i spent a month hitting the starter with a hammer, so today when i went to go start it all my electronics stopped working when i pressed in the brake, so finally i found the fuse was ticking which was weird because it was my fuel pump fuse, replaced that, then inspected wires and finally found it was the starter that was grounding out so i took it to autozone to have it tested (it passed by the way ) so i just bought a new one anyway put it on so now my jeep finally starts in like 2 to 3 cranks insted of it taking twice to start. so everything now works or so i thought, i just went out to start it and when i pressed in the brake it all died for a second and came back instantly and my speedo jumped all the way over and back what could this be??

Make sure there aren't any wires touching/ shorting on/ being moved by the brake pedal arm when you press it.
