electronic ignition

Looking to put a electronic ignition in my 97 jeep wrangler sport, any ideas on which would be the best for the jeep???

theres different types of ignition systems, but basically.....if you don't have to start your Jeep with a crank, then you have electronic ignition.

Usually, when one refers to "electronic ignition", they are referring to an ignition that does not utilize breaker points to trigger the coil. In that vein, the OP does indeed have "electronic ignition".

Ok.. gentlemen I think I miss spoke im looking for any ideas on ignition control for the jeep. MSD Digital, Mallory or any others that might be out there.

The factory ignition system is designed for maximum performance within design specs of the powertrain.

You don't hear much from the community on such mods because they can't give you any gain over a good system to begin with. When the AMC engines were designed, engineers could've only dreamed of the respectable service both the conventional and distributorless feedback fuel injection provide.

There are no quick performance upgrades that work. They just claim so, snake oil, and lighten your wallet.

If you must have more power then you need a turbo, V8, or some other very costly upgrade. Also dumping something with a lot more H p and Torque requires upgrading all the other driveline components since they were designed for the current power plant.
