End of the Road For my Trans?

This 2000 Sport is my first Wrangler, and I'm not too familiar with the 32rh transmission. It was slipping a little going from 1st to second so I adjusted the kick down cable a little to the left. That fixed 1st to second, but now it won't hardly shift from 2nd to third, revving the motor too much. Finally it will grab. After several more unsuccessful adjustments, I'm thinking the trans may be worn out. Any ideas before I start pulling it out of there?

Pretty sure if you drop the pan to replace the filter, there are bands that can be adjusted.

I know that's not a lot of insight on how/etc. but a few searches should be able to get you going if you weren't previously aware of the bands.
