Engine Coolant Replacing...

Hello everyone, I opened my hood today and my Engine Coolant bottle is very very LOW. It's down to the bottom...
I was just wondering should I just pour the antifreeze in there or is there a method of "flushing" something?? If so anyone have a good write up for it??

THanks
Nuke

Is the coolant rusty? The overflow is the coolant bottle. to drain the radiator open the petcock (little drain on the bottom) then drain into a bucket. Then fill with fresh coolant. Let it run with the cap off till the thermostate opens 1 or 2 times to bleed the air out then put the cap on. Dump the over flow out, wash and refill with fresh coolant. What year tj? What color coolant.

A 98 should just have plain old green stuff in it.

yep if you do drain and fill you can use green or the universal stuff that may be yellow or light green.

Also if you do drain and fill it will take about 2 gallons of 50/50 coolant/water

Do yourself and your Jeep a favor. Just go to a service station like valvoline or pep boys. They're not -too- expensive, and they give you a 100% system flush with manufacturer reccomended coolant.
