Engine options?

Well I was ready to buy a yj with a good 6 cyl engine, tray, and t case and was going to put that in my TJ.. But the deal went wrong and I didn't purchase it...
So I am asking everyone here about other options for engines and transmissions? Hoping to find the hole drive train as a package..

Need some advice

So I'm assuming here that you have a tj with a 4 popper and you're in need of a new transfer case. I wouldn't look too hard at a v8 unless you have a built drive line. Plus it's pricey. I would start looking at the insurace auctions for a tj with a good I6 and the NSG370 6 speed.

you need the cpu , harness too if you have a 4 banger in it now so best bet is to find a jeep with everything in it . I got lucky with my jeep I found a wrecked jeep cheep with everything but the front diff. . going from a 2.5 to a 4.0 or v8 is a lot of work ..
there are a few write ups on both and parts lists too .. cant find it now my search is not working

Ya hats what I'm looking for.. A wrecked jeep. Does it make a difference if I get a wrecked cherokee or a wrangler? I want to keep the 5 speed or 6 speed if I find one.
Is there any difference beside the drivelines between he Cherokee engines and wranglers?
Also, is there a difference between old YJ engines, transmissions, and TCases? There are many YJs on craigs for cheap around here...

Look for a Liberty or Grand Cherokee with a CRD. I have always wanted to do that.
