Engine revs high when cold

Jsst bought an 04 wrangler rubicon, I started to notice that if i don't let the truck warm up for a little when i step on the clutch in first and second sometimes third the engine rpm's go almost up to 3000rpm without hitting the gas. Is this normal or should I bring it in?

any ideas?
