I don't have any insight, but I'm sure someone will. Also, keep us posted on your progress.

I have not done any research on that at all. Hopefully someone else has done the swap that can help you. If not, I would try to ask a mechanic at a dodge house, or talk to Novak. Novak is a really progressive company that do a lot of conversions.

your manual tranny will not hold up to the 6 cylinder. You will need a different tranny and transfer case as your tcase will not bolt up to whichever tranny you get. If you can get the whole drivetrain from the 03 then the swap will be pretty much straight forward. I believe the engine motor mounts are different so you will need a new set there. Your PCM will not control the 6 cylinder motor so you need a new one there. When it all comes down to it.... why not swap in a V8?? But then again... your Dana 35 won't last long so you will need a new one there... and your dash won't work so you will need a new....

you get me point??

oh I forgot the best bit of advice. If your jeep is in good condition sell it and get a jeep with the 6 cylinder. It will save you the hassle and money in the long run.

If you're going to take that manual tranny out of your TJ.. Would you might be willing to part with it? Would it be possible just to pull my automatic out of there and throw a manual in it's place?

pulling any transmission and replacing it with an AX5 is a horrible idea. Get a beefier tranny. Then start thinking swap.

yea, MR. CLIFFORD is definitely right...you dont want to pull out your tranny and replace it with an AX15 because its not very strong...its pretty wimpy...get something better

and to answer the thread...you will prolly need to get new motor mounts for the new 6 cylinder since you had a 4 cylinder and your gonna want a stronger tranny with the new 6 cylinder...but like MR. CLIFFORD said...buy everything if you can...tranny, transfer case, etc

there is no prolly about it. The 4cyl and 6cyl motor mounts are in different locations on the frame. You can get some stockers from the dealer and use the tranny mount to locate the motor mounts on the frame. Least... that's what I would do for someone else if I were in those shoes.
