Engine upgrade

Does anyone have any experience in installing a chevy small block (350)? If so any inexpensive ways or any tips?

What are you going to be installing it in? Are you going to be driving it on the road? What tranny and xfer case do you plan on running? Do you want to buy mounts for everything or are you into fabbing and saving money? Are you going to have a computer or not? what year 350 do you want? Alot more info is needed, but you can check out advanceadapters they have alot of that kind of stuff. I put a 350 in a cj and it wasn't that bad.

P.S. . . . . Don't go Ford !

The 350 is a good choice and is what I'd go with. As mxracer513 suggests, go to AdvanceAdapters.com | Engine & Transmission Conversion Adapters - Advance Adapters where you'll find the adapters and mounts needed for that conversion.

cant help you rite now but give me a few months because i will be doing it when i have a few weeks off this summer. i am going to put a 6.0 LQ9 small block in mine with either a th350 or 400 trans. advance adapters sells mounts for chevy motors and adapter plates to hook them to the jeep trans if you want. they also sell output adapters to hook a chevy trans to the jeep transfer case which is what i will be doing. if you are going to go with an older style (pre '97) block then you can get the regular 350 kit but if you are going with a newer style motor (97+) like im doing then you need the ls1 mount kit because after 97 the bolt pattern for the motor mounts changed. there are alot of different size motors that you can use, especially the post 97 series of chevy motors. the motor that im putting in mine came out of a cadillac escalade and i got all the wiring and the trans, even tho i probably wont use it. if you want to be able to inspect it then you need a newer style motor so that you can interface it to the obd2 port in the jeep, the motor needs to be the same or newer year than your jeep, it needs to be a "light truck" engine, and you have to keep all the emissions equipment on it.
