Engine woes

I am going to have a friend run the check engine code this evening. I wanted to know, is resetting the light as simple as disconnecting the batttery?

I have a 1999 wrangler

yes, or when he uses his Japanese code reader he can reset the light (if you don't fix the cause it will return).

Fwiw, you can get a OBDII reader at harbor freight for ~30 bucks. and if you get a motor trend magazine they have a 20% off coupon.
