Exhaust

So, I am doing a cheap fix for right now and need a little assitance. My catalytic converter is shot. The insides are just rolling around, blocking the exhaust sometimes causing the right to not run efficiently. I am pulling the catalytic converter, honing it out, and then just putting it back on (can't afford the $300 for a new cat right now) Now since I don't know how to weld, I am just clamping it back on there for now. I have the coupling to slip over the cat and the exhaust pipe. I also have the clamps. Now our exhuasts ar 2.25" in diameter. I have 2.5" couplings (so they slide over) and 2.5" clamps. Will this work or do I need the 2.25" coupling and 2.25" clamp? Thanks guys!

Surprisingly, it hasn't thrown a CEL yet, and it has been like this and making noise rattling for 3 weeks...

2.5" coupling and clamps aren't going to workm you will leak something fierce..
I believe you should get 2.25 I.D. piping that way it will slide right over..

Appreciate it, my biggest problem is finding 2.25 id piping, all I am finding is 2.25 ID to 2.25 OD

Stop by a muffler shop and tell them what piping you need for a custom project.
