Exhaust manifold leak

Hit a rock on a trail, it put a dent in the exhaust, now it sounds like the manifold leaks.
Whats the cheapest/easiest way to repair this?

cheap? cut out the section of pipe thats dented, and go next size bigger pipe to patch then weld. manifold could try to tighten bolts, and if that works you got lucky.

depends... if it is leaking at the head, might be able to have it pulled off, welded, ground smooth then re-attached with a new gasket. (if it was bent\warped?)

If it is not leaking at the head and it put a hole in your manifold, weld it or have it welded shut.

If it just knocked something loose under there, it may just need to be re-attached and locked down tight.

Start by finding exactly where the leak is, start it up and start searching for the source of the noise then get a pic for us.

Oh, and get a pic of the dent. In chadwick terms, your dent could really be a crushed pipe.

might get away with losening it, then tightening back down... be careful to torque them to spec without going over. Im not sure of the pounds per sq ft but if you exceed them, you may break a bolt off in the hole and that my friend is a royal pain in the behind!

Okay the dent isnt the problem, the pipe connecting to the last cylinder (closest to driver) came out a bit, i can feel the exhaust gushing out and i put a shirt over it and the sound stoped.

how can i plug that gap for a day or so till i weld it shut?

I think your only hope without removing the manifold to fix it properly would be some muffler putty, but it would most likely be a temporary fix.
