exhaust question

i have a little 4 cylinder jeep that seems to have finally picked up an exhaust leak in the original exhaust system. i know the muffler itself has been on it's way out for a long time. how hard is this to replace and should i stick with a stock exhaust system or replace it with something aftermarket?

Seems to me that everything I've read says that aftermarket is better. Better exhaust flow = better performance, gas mileage, etc.

Month or 2 back, JP had an article comparing aftermarket cat-back exhaust systems. They range from quieter-than-stock, to hot rod rumble, and all are supposed to be an improvement over stock in performance.

Where is the leak ?

The cat-back systems are mostly bolt-on, and not too difficult.

i haven't looked for the leak yet as i just noticed it this morning. but i know from being under the jeep a while back that the muffler was all sorts of worn out. i'm assuming its from that area. hoping so, anyway.
