Exterior lights not working properly

Ok, so I'm stumped. I drive to the store parking lights and fog lights on (all on the same switch), shut everything down, come out to leave, turn my lights on to the parking light position and no lights come on. After playing with the switch I found a "sweet spot" and they came on. If I pull the switch all the way out to turn on the headlights, they come on but no other lights do, including the dash lights. Also, my left tail light is out now (aftermarket LED tail lights) brake light and turn signal work, just no tail. Put a new headlight switch in and that didn't change anything. Also, it's been months since I've hooked any kind of electronics up. PLEASE help!

You have to find the "sweet spot" with the new switch too?

If the park/fog lamps don't work at all first check for blown fuses.
Also take a look at your problem tail light, it could be the route of the failure.
See if unplugging it does anything.

If all else fails start with the basics. Power to the switch, power out of the switch, follow to the lamps.

Yeah even with the new switch I have to find the "sweet spot" but all my lights work with the exception of the tail light which just quit working the other night. The other light issue has been going a couple of weeks now. Once I find that "sweet spot" I have parking and fog lights. However if I want headlights I pull the knob out to it's normal headlight position but then I lose all other lights including dash lights.

I had the same issue with the push/pull light switch on my 97 - ended up being a fuse (sorry, can't remember which one).
I'm guessing the tail light is a seperate issue but I've had no experience with LED tail lights.

Tail light issue has been fixed, however, it did not fix my other issue.
