Fan shroud

I would like to see some pictures of how the fan shroud is on 2.5l Jeeps. Mine is a 98 and the shroud is starting to sag in the middle where it mounts against the radiator. I'm pretty sure that there should be some kind of bracket or clip or something to prevent this from happening. Any help would be nice. Thanks guys!

If someone can even explain how it should look?? The picture is what mine looks like. I'm just afraid that if it continues to sag more, the fan will soon hit it.

You're in luck. I've got a '98 2.5L as well. Mind appears to be doing the same thing. But I haven't lost any clips to my knowledge. There's a picture attached below.

Don't know how much mine sagged but after some time my fan started to rub the shroud when my Jeep was flexed decently. Don't know if my frame was flexing just a tad as well. Still had the problem on flex after I changed my motor mounts so I just trimmed a few inches off of the shroud with a dremel so the fan was free and clear.

I didn't go overboard since the shroud is still needed to funnel the air to the radiator. I monitored engine heat and temperature for awhile to make sure there were no negative effects and there were none.

If it comes that I guess I will do that as well. I have been seriously contemplating an electric fan and just do away with all of it.

Actually, you are incorrect. The shroud attaches to the sides of the radiator, not the top (or bottom). If the droop bothers you, I suggest removing the shroud and trying to reinforce that part by attaching a solid straight piece to the underside (inside) of the top of the shroud.

Yep, I'm tracking where it attaches! All of that is properly attached. It's not that the droop bothers me so much as it will soon be hitting my fan which is why I asked the question. Thanks for the insight though.
