Hi everyone,
Is there a comprehensive thread on the ins and outs of the TJ suspension regarding lifts and related things? I found a really good one in the JK forum but couldn't seem to find one on here.
I have a lot of questions and I'm sure they've all been asked a thousand times before, just can't seem to find them in one area. My wife just got a 2000 TJ already lifted(4" sus, 3" body) and 35's but it's kind of a crappy setup and I would like to start making this thing more road and trail worthy the right way. At the moment it has a Skyjacker 4" lift and from what I see it's literally just springs and shocks. It has the 3" BL and for the T-case lowering it's a stack of washers. Arms are stock, it has horrible steering(just installed the ZJ size drag link and tie rod b/c ball joints were worn) and driveline has some vibration.
Seems like the previous owner used it for mud bogging only, and we live in the the desert. I would love for this thing to be able to cruise rugged dirt roads at 40-50 smoothly and do some MILD crawling occasionally. But this is our first Jeep so I have no reference point to what's good and what's crap. I rode in a stock JK a few times and it was completely different to our TJ.
Thanks in advance.
