I'm having a hard time finding accurate information on what type of fluid to put in my 1999 5 speed manual (Ax5). I don't have a owners manual or a FSM, but the Haynes says use 75w-90 GL-5. I just ran across a few sources on google that say NEVER to use a GL-5 lubricant in the Ax transmissions. So what's right? What are you guys using -- Syncromesh? Redline MT-90?
And, since the Haynes manual is apparently wrong, and it's the only reference I have:
Is ATF+4 right for the transfer case? (231)
Is 75w-90 GL-5 correct for the axles? (D30 &D35)
I did a quick search, but didn't see any recent info about the AX5 fluid.
Thanks,
John
