Fog lamp switch

My fog lamps are factory,
the multi switch has tested bad with a meter.
Is this a common failure on 2002 wrangler?

Yup. You can either try and track down and install a replacement switch or just hard wire them and add a switch for them. Installing a seperate switch is much easier to do than you think.

Yeah, can lust splice in on the back side of the multiswitch with abou twelve inches of wire to a toggle. I put a jumper wire to bypass the switch to isolate it. Lights on and dash indicator illuminated. Just gotta decide if I wanna add more lights and do it all at the same time. My son in law warns me the multiswitch will be $160 or more. All the other switches work, so best bet is a toggle. The fog lamp switch on the tuen signal stalk is a bad idea, imho.

I just replaced my 2000 Sahara factory fog light switch. Got from Quadratec for $40.

I didn't see a multiswitch on quadratec
Perhaps they changed from individual switches after 2000

Hey JP, do you know which wires are the ones for the fog lights on the harness? I took mine apart yesterday and couldn't seem to meter which ones they were. I ended up pulling the fuse but that is not the long term solution. I was actually going to use the backwindow defogger or one of those switches that do not currently have a purpose.

They are kind of rare and are pretty backlogged due to how common of an issue the multiswitch is. I was going to replace it too but figured if they are known to be faulty, why f with it.
