M.O.R.E. is where just about everyone gets the TJ brackets. The only other change would be gears. If your Sahara has 3.73's and the 8.8 has 3.73's you wont need to regear. But if you have different gears you'll need to either bemove that front drive shaft untill you do regears the axles or regear right away.
the gears would be 4.56.. and yes ill be regearing the front to match the rear.. other than that.. what would i have to do to the ds?
should i go ahead and do a sye so i can do a tummy-tuck and bigger lift later on? or can i get by on a stock ds
You'll have to get a new drive shaft or an adapter, because ford DS bolt onto the rear end, they don't use a yoke like Jeeps do. I'm also building an 8.8 and I'll be doing gears, but I'll also be doing an SYE and CVDS that will bolt up to that 8.8 w/o the use of an adapter.
Also ford used hard lines on the rear end and you'll need 2 passenger side lines to connect them to the Jeep lines.
When you attach the brackets, you might also think about canting them 5deg froward, this will reduce the pinion angle.
if you reduce the pinion angle can you eliminate the t case drop???
or is it totally separate from drivline angle?
It's different than the drive line. The vibes come from the steep angle of the drive shaft and the output shaft in the t case. By adding a 5deg cant to the mounting brackets you reduce pinion angle, that's why we use adjustable control arms also.
if i go this route. i might do the 5 degree slant.. right now im not worried about adjustable control arms.. probably wont touch my suspension for the next year or so.. im not too worried about my pinion angle as of yet
eventually ill be adding a la lift and ill re-bracket my axle.. but for now im just worrying about replacin the d35.. after that ill be adding tires, tube fenders, and then my next major mod will be a stroker engine.. until i get all that done, the la lift can and will wait =D
