Question frameless soft top

Came across these tops while looking for a top. Kinda torn between a frame or frameless style. Been looking at rampage for both types, only problem, mine is a hard top now and the frame one is complete but the frameless one i'll need the windsheild header, tail gate bar and door surrounds. This version comes complete with all 3, USA made using sailcloth. It cost more than the rampage but when you add up the additional hardware (especially the door surrounds) it comes out pretty good. Any one have any dealings or comments about these guys(good or bad)

I'm in the same boat. Only have a hardtop. This one looks nice to me. I like that it includes everything to install, since I don't have any factory softop hardware. I don't know anything about the company, but their website says they started in 2000. Ten years in business sounds stable enough.

I've only seen on product from them locally, it was the camper shell thing on a chevy p/u...it wasn't in pieces so that's a good thing. It looked to be of good quality.

I like the top....but if you can hold off on pulling the trigger as more options for frameless tops are coming. (then you can compare this one, the rampage, and a new top to decide which one you like best). I like options...

so far i'm leaning more towards the frame type. I like the options of down, windows out(safari style) or buttoned up. At the moment I'm only finding a decient priced one in black w/o tinted windows. Being in northern Illinois, winter will be upon us soon and I can wait, for now if it gets nice(indian summer) i can pull the door tops(sliders). Be willing to bet, come Feb there will be more selections and better prices-like camping, you don't buy a trailer in spring, you do it in the fall.

You have those three options with the frameless one too.

True, depending on whose frameless top you get.

There are three frameless tops. Rampage (was Viking), Softtopper, Bestop Trektop

"Down" is not really a convient option with the frameless tops. You have to fully remove the top. That can take a few minutes and there is not an easy way to fold and take it with you.

The Trektop side windows do not unzip.

seems like the more you learn, the less you know. There are way too many different configurations-which is a good and bad thing. Even on the complete tops, it makes a difference on the doors you have and of course they do not go into that much detail. I think i came across 3 complete tops from rampage that had different part numbers and emailing them they even had to look it up to make sure the one for full doors will also work with 1/2 sliders(2 emails from them to verify that)
the only 2 that make any scense and are comparable in price is a frame one by rampage(on amazom) or the frameless one from softop-windsheild/tailgate parts aren't too bad(but several choices there too-saw that in some of the posts) but the door surronds are nuts in price-$169 each(ebay/craigslist can be your friend-but still saw $100 for a used pair-shoots that frameless price up there)
got a feeling it'll be a frame style once i find one w/tinted windows. Have a convertable, safari, or full top and it stores nice when down(in it's own boot)
since this will be a 'summer' top i don't really need top of the line, and after owning my 1st jeep, see more in my future and don't think i need a top to last 10 yrs-doubt i'll have this jeep that long

I have the viking (rampage) frameless top. I LOVE it. It easy to put up and take down, and you dont have to deal with all the damn hardware when you take the top off. I also like how the top is capable of bein a safari top. This is a big plus in the desert summers.
