Front axle

My front d30 needs new hubs/bearings and U joints.... Better to get a swap, or replace parts? If a swap is the way to go, what's the best way to go about that. What would be compatible with my rear D35

If youre looking to save some cash and have the 4.0, you could always swap the axles from a 4 banger in with the 4.10 gears to get some more power.

Well if you can find a dana 44 front and rear with matching ratios or something else for less than 800 installed then yes, it isnt really worth it. I never plan on going above 33's so this was a quick cheap and easy way to get some power back.

You can get an hp dana 30 from a Cherokee you'd just have to pay attention to the gear ratio since some of they have odd ratios.

Did they ever make a HP 30 with stock 4.10s?

yes, even one with 4.56 IIRC, but they are about as rare as finding a rubi in a junk yard

Why swap axles when you only need new hub bearings and u joints? Both are simple jobs and basically 4 bolts. Three that hold the hub bearing in and the large axle but. I would just replace the parts.

I was under the impression that I needed to take the guts out of my axles to get to the u bolts, I'm not properly equipped to start tearing gears out
