Front diff seal? Oil leaking like crazy!!!!!

Is there a seal for the front diff? I did the ujoints on the front passenger side and there didn't seem to be a seal. There was no mention of a seal in the service manual either and I didnt really see one when I took it apart. What holds the diff oil in the punkin on the front axle? Does anyone have any info on this? I now have oil pooling on the front knuckle and it's all over the tire and some under the fender, I'm worried that the diff is going to go dry.

Did you pull the axle out of the housing? The seal is by the pumpkin. I have not done them but I think you have to pull the differential out of the axle.

Sounds like you damaged the seal putting the shaft back in.

I didn't know they were down inside the pumpkin. Sounds like a big job, I think I will take it to a shop.

Probably not a cheap job but if done right you'll save your front diff. Probably good idea to check the axle shaft u-joints.They suck cause not greaseable.
