Front Driveshaft Play

When I grab the front driveshaft I can spin it ever so slightly, as if it was lose within the spline and or the axle. I'm new to driveshafts and such so I am not sure if this is normal. The rear shaft does not move a mm.

Is this normal or something to worry about?

231 transfer case in 2h with a Dana30 front. Stock shaft.

I think this is normal. The front drive shaft is turned by a chain inside the transfer case in which there is a small amount of slack. The rear is connected straight to the main shaft of the transfer case which is connected to the output shaft of the transmission so there is no slack. I hope i explained that somewhat right if not maybe someone will correct me.

Built driveshafts for years. If you have play at the spline and slip yoke back and fourth just a little thats ok. Push straight up and down on the shaft where the spline and slip yoke meet. You should have no up and down play.

No play in any other direction anywhere, just the small rotation slack and it makes sense being chain driven.

Thanks for the answers guys, I feel better now.
