Front hubs not unlocking.

I have had some trouble with this for a while, whether I'm in 4wd or not, the front half of my drivetrain seems to always be turning. Should I replace the hubs or just disassemble and grease them? Any other tips would be appreciated.

The TJ's hubs don't unlock and it is true the front driveshaft is always being driven. There is nothing wrong, that is how it was designed. Modern front-end and transfer case designs no longer need the hubs to unlock.

For SOME needs, aftermarket manual hubs that can be unlocked are nice to have but they are not needed for most needs.

To add a little more, the front shaft is engaged/disengaged in the transfercase.
