Is the tierod the part with slack in it? I feel it necessary to ask this, as you didn't specify...it just sounds like you're bored and thought "I need a tie rod"....
Ha! Not bored, but yes, I looked under it better last night, and I would say the right end is questionable, but the main culprit seems the be the end of the drag link where it meets the pitnam arm.
So I replaced the front end, drag link, tie rod and ends, pretty easy, less than an hour. It definately needed to be done, the end at the pitnam arm was wasted, so all new and shiny but it still feels like there's play. I'm wondering about the steering box, it's a rebuilt by Cardone, put it in last weekend. I would imagine it would be adjusted from the factory, but now I'm thinking of checking to see if it could be tightened up.
Just wondering if anyone has done this. The ball joints seem good from what I can tell, and there isn't much left to replace.
My ZJ tie rod made a world of difference. I wrapped mine in electrical conduit as well to protect it in case I slide off a rock and smash it, they'll still cover my warranty
$146 seems expensive though? I priced you USA guys at about $86... we get hammered here in Canada and I dropped $211 to do it...
