Fuel gauge/check engine light problem

So two days ago I'm driving my 2006 unlimited when all of a sudden I notice my fuel gauge is ready zero fuel. Wow I think I didn't see that coming, then I notice the check engine light is also on. So I stop and put 6 gallons of premium gas in. Once before I had a bad batch of fuel and the check engine light flashed.

So I restart and I now have 3/4 tank of gas, weird. The check engine light stays on. The next day I start the Jeep and the light is off.

So yesterday I'm driving and the same thing happens. Fuel gauge reading empty and the check engine light on. Today the check engine light is off again.

Anyone have any ideas?
